Art-Tastic Tuesday: Flower Field, by Ryan Pancoast

Click the picture below for full-size. On Art-Tastic Tuesdays I feature a selected piece of visual art that I have come across. These are pieces that have inspired my writing or beautifully frame some concept or another that I have already written or want to write about. I present them without commentary so they may inspire you without the burden of my perspective, and pictures have links to the artists’ blog or website if at all possible.

If you are ever curious as to why a particular piece is special to me, or use it for a writing prompt and want to share, please drop a comment!

  1. “Are you sure about this darling, it looks like it might not see us,” he tries to sound brave but uncertainty leaks into his voice regardless.
His wife huffs annoyed, “Attack first or die husband, or did they not teach you that in your magic cooking school?”
“I can do other stuff too.”
“Prove it,” and her arrow flies loose striking the beast between its beady eyes with the ping of angry metal against bone.
The expensive gold tipped missile falls to the ground useless and he wonders if out running her counts s magic.

  2. Really, really love this one. I like the monochromatic composition (I have a soft spot for monochrome) and the opposition between the unknown beast and the family.
    Really like it :-)
