“I dreamed you burned a city, Mama.”
“You see the past, my darling.”
“Why?”
“They’d slain my clutch of eggs.”
“There was, a man…”
“Yes, a paladin. He saved his people.”
“How?”
“He relinquished his life as a man to become a dragon hatching. I have loved you ever since.”

Great. So much told in just a little dialogue.

Thank you, Diana. The turn and flow of the dialogue here was my favorite: Something vengeful, something noble and something redeemed and pure.

Ha! What a great twist. So much in so few words, just how I like it.

I really like the idea of absolute sacrifice, a true paladin. Great storytelling in such a short amount of words!

Thank you, very much! I had a good idea and rhythm with this one, and that concept of sacrifice and the nature of being a hero was on the forefront of my mind penning it.
