Flash Fiction: Annette’s Choice

Annette handed over her habit and robe. “I’m so sorry, Mother Superior.”

The old nun took the folded clothes. “You exorcised a devil from a good man. He loves you. It isn’t sinful to love him in return.”

“But, your plans for me are now all awry.”

“God’s plan is better.”
