The juxtaposition of the hyper-real and otherworldly in this one is what makes it eerie to me… and the lethargic menace of the fairies.

Indeed, I found them unexpectedly menacing as well. I guess even fairies have stereotypes we shouldn’t take as true 🤔

Actually, in many of the original European legends of fairies, many were far from nice and beings to be avoided. :-) Like many myths, their stories were greatly sanitized in the 19th and 20th centuries.
