Flash Fiction: Sensei

“I am ready to learn, Sensei.”

“You have unattainable aspirations, for a blind nine-year-old.”

The master swiped with his bamboo shinai. The boy disarmed and tripped him expertly.

“I know the basics, Sensei.”

“So I see,” he answered, awed on the floor.
