“You can’t tell the humans what you know without revealing us to them, so you’re saving her yourself,” Briar deduced.
Tearful, Pepper nodded.
“Reaching those ruins before dark is no vacation stroll. But my cat is swift, and if we leave—”
“You’ll help?”
