Flash Fiction: From the Beginning

“I’m home,” the girl cried, “but they can’t see me! What am I?”

“Flesh and blood and brains, all those things rot in the grave,” the ghost boy consoled. “They’re not you. We are the part that goes on. In a body or not, we’ve all been ghosts from the beginning.”
