Briar tugged the reins of the cat’s tack, smiling as contented as Pepper did unseen behind him.
“Alright, Whiskers,” he said as the cat stood, “to Bundhafen! Double time!”
Whiskers shot into a run, and Pepper’s howl was half thrilled, half terrified.
