Fifty Word Fantasy: Till Death Do Us Part

The Bürgermeister mixed poison into his stepdaughter’s milk. Unlike last time, the child’s current illness would cover suspicions. The estate would be his.

He turned to find her mother’s ghost.

“Till death do us part.”

A phantom hand entered his chest. It left without the ring that stopped his heart.

  1. I read the name Bürgermeister and immediately thought of the show Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town and laughed because that character probably murdered kids too…great short work!
