Flash Fiction: Mausoleum

Ed looked to his boy, whose eyes gazed with wonder seeing the ruins.

“Pop, people used to live here?”

“Yup. Millions of ‘em… once.”

“What’s it called?”

“Nowadays? Folks call it, Mausoleum. Long ago it was ‘Manhattan’, but that was before you or me.”
