After an exhausting, knuckle-bashing weekend, we’re finally living at the new house! Okay… living out of boxes and unable to find half of anything for certain, but living there all the same. ;-)
I can’t wait to get back to writing after this massive disruption! Setting up my desk and still-empty bookshelves in the room that will become my writer’s den the other night made me smile. And now that the internet is working, the residence is definitely feeling more like a home and less like the construction site that it has been for the past month. My little writing space upstairs, non-euclidean tendencies and all, is only now beginning to shape up, but I’m eager to fill it with the sound of computer keys crafting stories!
The rest of this week will likely be spent unpacking and transforming rooms from collections half-open boxes into functional spaces. Believe me, I’d rather be writing fiction… but working bathrooms and kitchens are important in supporting a writer in his work. That, and they make his loving wife happy, a reward worth the sacrifice indeed. ;-)
Hopefully, next week I can show you some pictures of assembled rooms! Until then, take care and keep writing!
