  1. Wow – this artist is jaw-droppingly awesome. Good to see some great female characters, too – looking tough and sexy rather than slutty (if you know what I mean). The site is great, his style kinda makes me think 2000AD. Love it.

    1. I feel the same way. This harkens back to a classic Frank Frazetta, Conan or Heavy Metal style… But she is a figure of strength and power rather than being a sexualized object of desire. She’s not wearing much, but barbarians aren’t noted for that. Even then, she’s wearing more than her felled male opponent… and significantly more than the useless “platemail bikini” you see typical fantasy warrioress’ crammed into while posed in a suggestive way.

I also really like how Maciej gave her the proportions of an actual tall, tough woman… not just a typical woman scaled-up. A performer friend of mine is a tall, fit gal… I’m talking like, well over six foot, amazon biker Wonder-Woman “please save me from the bad-guys, Mam,” tall… She could recreate this picture with the right costume. ;-)

      1. Aepril is an awesome person to know. :-) I used to be a roadie and cameraman for her dance troupe when she was getting started. She’s very talented, also being a teacher, pianist, singer, mythologist and astrologer. Great conversations to be had when she’s around!
