Flash Fiction: Irreconcilable Differences

Child sized and balled in a couch corner, Bruce looks up from his folded knees. He reaches for the door, wedding band dangling oversized on a rodent’s finger.

I’m still me…” he says, as he did begging Callie to stay.

Her ring remains where she dropped it.
