Flash Fiction: Boulder Than Most

Phillips shielded the squad from a line of tracer fire behind his bulky stone body.

“You okay?” Sarge shouted.

Stings,” the rocky G.I. answered. “But if those Nazis think they can turn me into a boulder with a Brooklyn accent and gets’ away with shootin’ at my buddies without a Bronx clobberin’… well…”

Sarge looked to the squad. “You heard him boys! Lock, load move in behind the big guy!”
