Flash Fiction: Coronation

I lift the weighty treasure: a crown of solid amethyst. Only the eyes of tomb-bound corpses witness my self-coronation.

Lemurian psychicism fills me. In a breath, I am the queen of a telepathic empire.

Then I hear it: The sleeper dreaming darkly in R’lyeh.

I scream.
