Flash Fiction: A Forest Wrapped in Gossamer

He studies her kimono in a forest wrapped in gossamer. Its mottled pattern is a moth’s wing.

“Giant monsters appear in Tokyo, and you kidnap me,” the singer says. “Why?”

They reach huge cocoons as she speaks. “My song must awaken the queen. Yours, her king…”
