Flash Fiction: 20th Story Window

The sound of breaking glass lingers in the night. It renews in cascades with every thunderous footfall.

Peeking above the desk that hides me, a car-sized eye passes my 20th story window.

Then returns.

I recognize its glare.

I’ve given the same to cockroaches.
