Flash Fiction: Found Family

He patted the wild child dry after their spill in the river. “Well, there’s a girl under all that dirt!”

“Please don’t take me from the wolves!” she begged.

He dabbed her tears. “I’d never take you, from found family.”

She hugged the ranger. “May I still learn human ways?”

“Best as I can teach them.”
