Flash Fiction: Artifact

She pulls the microscope’s focus through golden layers.

“It’s definitely encased in amber,” she says, examining the mystery inclusion. “Millions of years old.”

“It’s circuitry?” he asks.

She nods. “From 2157.”

“The future?”

“That’s the copyright on it.”
