Time for a new weekly writer’s roundup of my works-in-progress and those ready to read!
I’ve crossed the fifty thousand word mark on Vivian’s Last Cigarette! A busy weekend preparing for my new job that started Monday, and the training thereafter, hasn’t afforded me much time to surpass it farther… or even to write this update… But I did do it!
It’s now officially a novel by any measure… and with only a couple more chapters to go, the finish line for the draft is in sight! Currently, I’m still writing the very apex of the book’s climax in its fourteenth chapter. Lots of action and drama, and I’ve been taking my time to polish it as I go. Those revisions have made it better than my initial concepts, and I’m very pleased with that.
I like the new job, but honestly I’m looking forward to Friday and an end to this long first week of training. I can’t wait to get back to making real progress on my novel over the weekend! ;-)
That’s all I’ve got for a WIP report this week… I really can’t share too much without major spoilers! However, I do have a snippet from Chapter Five I will share below. This bit actually happens immediately after a snippet I shared in this post from August, if you would like to read them together.

Thank you Ben! It’s going well, and never fear about it preventing me from writing. Although this first week or so is hectic, I took it because it allowed me more time to write… and writing is still my primary goal. :-)
