Flash Fiction: Confession in the Rain

“I’m not the man you married,” I confess in the rain. “He took a bullet to the head, I took them everywhere else.”

Drenched, she nods.

“They put me in his body, I don’t deserve to be put in his life.”

She takes my hand. “I never loved him, like I do you.”
