Flash Fiction: Return and Remember

“I don’t want to die!”

Her master embraced her.

The inferno reached them. “I don’t want us to forget ourselves!”

“Minds forget, child,” the towheaded wizard said. “Souls remember.”


The young apprentices shook hands.

“Have we met?” he asked.

“Feels like it,” the towheaded girl answered. “They say souls remember.”
