A dark beauty fell naked from the stars at #nightfall. Looking alot like us.

Until she flashed her fangs ending our #similarity.
Now just like her, I fly around craving blood, but I refuse to be nude.
Yet humans still call me a monster, too.#vss365#scifansat#satsplat
I went through the Similarity, the old spacer said. It was like an endless hall of mirrors, and my face in every one.#SciFanSat #similarity

From dayfall to #nightfall, we own it all. The orbit you believe is nothing but deceive. We blanket the sky, show you all a lie. The #similarity to what was, is a comfort we give. We can take it: let them peek at you, let their hunger fall through the sieve.#vss365 #scifansat

The old man stepped through the shimmering rain portal into a #nightfall world. The scent of petrichor and sound of falling leaves reminded him of home–but this was not there. This was a place called Similarity. #vss365 #scifansat #scifisat

Think of the nightfall, the descending darkness, the aphotic shroud. How similar is the night to the infinity of space? For without sight, we no boundaries. Think of the terrors which haunt the night. How many more lurk out there beyond the stars? #SciFanSat #vss365 #satsplat

“This should be a simple first contact!” Gundersen yells. “Why are these Ommakotans trying to kill us?”

Pinned down by gunfire, his lieutenant points to a fresco in the alien temple featuring demons with an undeniable similarity to humans.

I first saw my double in a restaurant, smiling my grin, a hand in my greying hair. The similarity was uncanny.

Taking a seat, I ordered coffee, hid behind a paper.
His group stayed till #nightfall. As I shadowed him home, I didn't notice the eyes watching me.#scifansat#vss365
When the Sun rose that morning people noticed the purple halo shimmering around it.

Exposed to sunlight, the construction workers changed first. Then others, out walking dogs; joggers, children and parents in playgrounds.
By #nightfall, we were all the same.#vss365 #SciFanSat

Similarity in the stars from the dark side of the moon & Earth at nightfall, but D couldn’t help thinking that London’s dark alleys were haunted by feral otherworlders, croaking shadows fighting over metal scraps & cultivating data poxes in the filth.
She curses at the sun, already sinking over the horizon. By day this place seems almost like home but any #similarity vanishes after #nightfall. Sometimes in the dark she thinks she hears growling, and at other times a sad, unfamiliar voice calling her name. #vss365 #SciFanSat

This outpost planet has a #similarity to Earth. After #nightfall, carnivorous creatures and munching monsters terrorize us.

But there’s also a difference. It's going to be dark for a year now.

The inherent similarities were undeniable. The invading race of aliens had some kind of crispr on steroids. "They act just like us, we don't even know where they come from" said the General looking dour. A guard lowered his machine gun and killed everybody in the room.#SciFanSat

Through the doorway I discern a tiny humanoid shape. The #similarity is uncanny.
"You dragged me screaming from my home," she says, voice earthy. "Hung me out to dry."

#Nightfall in this city smells like votive candles and blooming irises. You walk along the old fortifications and think about differences and #similarities, meetings and goodbyes, and about her hair wrapped around your wrist in the early hours of morning. #SciFanSat #vss365

Physically, identical. That's where the similarities ended. Engineered for ruthlessness and strength, her programming embodied the qualities of a warrior. I was bred for guile, sensuality, with no sense of morality or remorse. Together we'd take down the entire colony.#SciFanSat

I am continually awed by the talent and creativity of the authors that grace SciFanSat with their voices. Above are highlighted microfiction tweets that I feel exemplify that talent, all compiled from our 05.01.2021 “Similarity” prompt and event.
All tweets, art, and rights belong to their respective creators. No ownership or responsibility on my part is inferred by this post, just my admiration.
