Lipstick Letters

She shivered in a too-big shirt reading lipstick letters on the motel mirror:

“I said I wanted your sex, Jack (Jill?). Haha. No, I didn’t steal it: It’s a magicked trade. No, you won’t find me. Be glad I’m not the misogynist you are (were?), Hottie. XOXO.”

  1. A sex swap this way in fiction, that’s genius. I personally never seen it go this route before, and it was humorous especially now that Jack is Jill.

Never thought they could be one and the same. 😂 Brilliant writing, it’s a great sci-fi short.

    1. Thank you, there’s some dark humor in there for sure. :-) The possibility of induced gender dysphoria — and being completely removed from your physical identity to become a person with no provable history — is a touch of psychological and legal horror as well.
