Wolf Runner

The ranger pats the wild child dry after their spill in the river. “Well! There’s a girl under all that dirt.”

“Don’t take me from the wolves!” she begs.

He dabs her tears. “I’d never.”

“Really?”

“Yes, never.”

“May I, still learn human ways?”

“If you wish.”
