From Loreena McKennitt’s 1995 album “A Winter Garden”, available for listening in full here.
This is my hands down favorite version of this carol. The whole album, while short, is excellent in my opinion. It’s been in my collection since its year of release, when I got it as a free sample over a hard, snowy, and lonely winter. With my family a thousands miles away, it was a nice touch of warmth over an otherwise depressing holiday. I am never feel alone when I listen to it. :-)
Happy Holidays!

My favorite has always been Little Drummer Boy.
Sorry your family is so far away. Makes the holidays hard. May you have good friends to spend it with and Skype to talk to the people back home.

Thank you Elizabeth. That winter was decades ago, and I’ve had many a good holiday since. :-) I am no longer alone, but try to be there for those that are.

This is one of my favourite cd by McKennitt too. Love the mixing of western tradition with more oriental sounds :-)
