We lost actor Bill Paxton to a stroke this February. He was 61, and is gone far too soon. Paxton had many memorable performances, but it was his role as Private Hudson in Aliens (1986) that introduced him to a worldwide audience. Many of his lines in that film were brilliantly improvised, and they remain classic to this day.
Rest in peace Bill. Game over man, game over. :-(
Sad news. I can’t believe that movie is 30 years old (?). A classic.

“Aliens” was a major cornerstone of my late childhood, and a go-to and common ground movie between myself and many peers to this day. And yeah, it certainly is a classic. If you haven’t watched it recently, you should check it out… Many films of the 80s really show their age. But not this one. And that’s the sign of a true classic.

I agree about it not showing its age. That’s why it’s so shocking that its 30 years old!

Good art is like that! :-) I think that people have been conditioned to think in recent decades that newer is automatically “better” and with art that is so not the case. Beethoven and the Beatles are just as good now as when they were new, and that can be said for a lot of things.
It does, however, make ME feel my age… ;-)
