Flash Fiction: Just Dandy

Its yellow face rises bloody from devouring the man’s neck. Both lion and plant, the odor of its aromatic roar is unmistakable as it shakes a mane of long petals.

“Oh, just dandy,” I say. “A mad scientist’s gen-gineered dad joke!”

It leaps.

I run.
