Half Measures

“I don’t do changing back,” Circe says.

“You do,” the Governess nods. “I’ve read the Odyssey. In Greek.”

“They were pirates, taking treasure from my island.”

“That’s a half-truth. They buried the treasure before you came here!”

“So? I made them half-animals!”
